- New RC calculators in the menu: balance point (CG), wing loading, flight time, LiPo C-rating and prop thrust
- The CG calculator works for straight, tapered, swept and flying wings, and draws where the balance point goes
- Switch between metric and imperial - and anyone can use them without an account, so share them with your club
v2.28.0 29 Oct 2026
Help when you need it
- New Help centre (in the menu): short guides to every part of the app - how to start and tips to get more out of it - with a search box
- A ? next to the title on the main pages opens the guide for that page
- Did you know? tips on your Hangar suggest one feature you haven't tried yet - hide each with Got it, or turn them all off
v2.27.0 29 Oct 2026
Learning to fly in the USA
- US pilots get their own Learning Path: pass the FAA TRUST test, register with the FAA and join the AMA, then on to your first solo
- The Learn to fly guide now has the US rules too - TRUST, FAA registration, Remote ID and FRIA fields, the 400 ft limit and B4UFLY - with a UK / USA switch
- Add your TRUST date, FAA registration number and AMA number on your Profile, and we'll remind you before the registration expires
- Over 200 Australian club fields added to Flying Sites, from the MAAA club finder
v2.26.0 28 Oct 2026
More help for new pilots
- Best times to learn this week: new and learning pilots see the next 7 days at their field with the best learning window each day, plus a heads-up the evening before a good day
- Before the first flight: a set-up checklist on each new model - CG, control directions, rates, failsafe, range check and fixings - that an instructor from your club can mark as checked
- Mentors: tick 'Happy to help new pilots' on your Profile and learners near your fields and in your clubs can find and message you - you don't need to be an instructor
v2.25.0 28 Oct 2026
Learn to fly guide and milestones
- A free Learn to fly guide for anyone starting out: the UK rules, a starter kit you can add to your Wish List in one tap, plain explanations of failsafe, CG, SWEETS, buddy boxes and more, simulators, and finding a club - linked from Learn more and ? buttons around the app

- Coaching tips on the flight report for learners and lessons: what to work on next, from your landing, take-off, height and distance
- Our mission, now on the About page: to help everyone who dreams of flight become a confident, safe pilot - and keep them flying for life
v2.24.0 28 Oct 2026
Simulator log and clubs that train
- Log simulator practice from the new Simulator tab on Log a Flight - RealFlight, PicaSim, Liftoff and more. Sim time is kept apart from real flights, so it never counts in your stats or records
- Clubs can say they welcome new pilots and mark events as training sessions; find them with the new 'Welcomes new pilots' filter on Clubs and the sites map
- Ask about lessons: send a club's instructors a message straight from the club page - their replies arrive in Messages
- New and learning pilots get a free Beginner pre-flight checklist, and the Learning Path now includes practising on a simulator
v2.23.0 28 Oct 2026
Learning to fly
- New to the hobby? Tell us at sign-up (or on your Profile) and your Hangar gets a Learning Path: CAA Operator and Flyer ID, joining the BMFA, your first model, finding a club, your first lesson, first solo, then your BPC and 'A' - each step ticks itself off
- Log a flight as a lesson: your instructor (anyone in your club marked as an instructor), buddy box on or off, and which BMFA test items you practised - they show as Practising on your certificate
- Instructors are told when you log a lesson with them and can add their own notes to it; your lessons, total lesson time and most-practised items appear in BMFA Certificates
- New and learning pilots see 'Good for learning today?' above Flying Conditions, with gentler wind, gust and crosswind limits and the reasons why
v2.22.0 26 Oct 2026
Busy times and measured wind
- Site pages show when a field is busy: pilot visits by day of the week and by month, the busiest day, and how many pilots to expect on it
- Flight Reports now measure the wind from your flight: when you fly at least two full, level circles, the GPS track gives the wind speed and direction at your height, shown next to the forecast
v2.21.0 26 Oct 2026
BMFA 'C' certificates
- The 'C' endorsements are in BMFA Certificates: Aerobatics, Gas Turbine and Scale, from the 2026 tests - compulsory manoeuvres plus the optional ones you choose (7 for Aerobatics and Gas Turbine, 6 for Scale)
- Mark your chosen optional exercises as Practising; your best ones count towards your progress. 'C' tests are applied for on the Achievement Scheme website and recorded by an Area Chief Examiner with a second examiner
v2.20.0 26 Oct 2026
Every BMFA certificate
- BMFA Certificates now covers every discipline in the 2026 Achievement Scheme: multirotor, silent flight (thermal, electric and slope), indoor aerobatic, drone racing, the fixed wing FPV extension and the Camera Drone Certificate of Competence
- Club admins can tick Multirotor and Silent flight for instructors and examiners too, and the app knows who may lead each 'B' (helicopter examiners can lead a multirotor 'B'; indoor is led by fixed wing examiners)
v2.19.0 26 Oct 2026
Helicopter BMFA certificates
- BMFA Certificates now covers helicopters: the 2026 heli Basic Proficiency, 'A' and 'B' tests item by item, with what the examiner looks for - switch between Fixed wing and Helicopter at the top
- Club admins can tick which disciplines each instructor and examiner covers; a heli 'B' needs a helicopter examiner leading (or a helicopter Area Chief Examiner)
- The 20 mandatory legal questions, with answers, are on the certificates page to revise from
- Fixed wing tests now follow the 2026 BMFA documents too: the failsafe is its own item, and a model under 1 kg, hand launched or using self-levelling means a BPC
v2.18.0 26 Oct 2026
Your units, your way
- Set wind speed and visibility units separately on your Profile - for example wind in mph or knots but visibility in km
- Wind Map widget: choose how close the map opens - the surrounding area, the field, or fitted to your runways (widget settings - Map zoom)
- Change the batteries on a flight you've already logged - Edit Flight now has the battery picker, with % and voltage
- Needs Attention widget now lists models whose range check or failsafe test is due or last failed
v2.17.0 26 Oct 2026
Runways
- Move a runway without redrawing it: tap edit and drag the ends, or the middle to shift the whole strip
- Sites with more than one runway now get the runway most into wind as the one in use, on the Wind Map, Flying Conditions and the site page
- The wind arrow on the site map now sits on the runway in use, and the full-screen map button is easier to find
- Landing scores use whichever runway you actually landed on, and Flight Reports update when a runway is moved
v2.16.0 25 Oct 2026
BMFA certificates
- New BMFA Certificates page: the official fixed wing BPC, 'A' and 'B' tests item by item, with what the examiner looks for
- Mark what you're practising and ask your club's instructors to sign items off - they get a notification
- Club admins can make members Instructors or Examiners on the roster; examiners record your pass and it shows as a badge on your pilot page
- Add your BMFA number on your Profile
v2.15.0 25 Oct 2026
Black box crash report
- When a GPS flight looks like it ended in a crash, its Flight Report now opens a Black box: what probably happened in the last 30 seconds
- It checks the radio link and failsafe, receiver and flight battery voltage, your stick inputs, power and the flight path, and gives a timeline and charts
- Open it on any flight with "Something went wrong on this flight?" - and bury a crashed model in the Graveyard with the cause filled in
v2.14.0 25 Oct 2026
Jets in Flight Replay
- Three new jets in Flight Replay: an F-16, an L-39 Albatros and a T-38 Talon, with ailerons, elevator and rudder that move with your stick inputs
- Models with a turbine power type now fly a jet automatically - name it L-39 or T-38 to get that one, otherwise it's the F-16
- Pick any of them for a flight from Menu - Aircraft Model
v2.13.0 25 Oct 2026
Restore from a backup
- New Restore from a backup page (Profile): bring back a deleted model, battery, transmitter or flights from your data export ZIP or any date of your Google Drive backup
- Pick exactly what comes back - nothing you still have is changed. A model returns with its flights, GPS logs, maintenance, components and photos
- Drive backups now keep every weekly copy, so you can go back further than the latest one
v2.12.0 24 Oct 2026
Scan battery labels to add them to a flight
- New Scan QR button when logging a flight and in Field Mode: point your phone's camera at your printed battery and model labels and they're added one after another
- Works on iPhone and Android - no NFC needed
- Clubs: browse any club's page before joining, and clubs without a picture now show their flying site's photo
v2.11.0 24 Oct 2026
Moving control surfaces in Flight Replay
- New standard aircraft in Flight Replay - an Extra 330 aerobatic plane, a sailplane and an An-2 biplane - with ailerons, elevator and rudder that move with your actual stick inputs
- The propeller spins with your throttle
- Works with transmitter logs that record your sticks (EdgeTX, ETHOS, Jeti)
v2.10.0 24 Oct 2026
Smoke trails in Flight Replay
- Turn on a smoke trail from the Flight Replay menu: always on, or driven by your model's smoke switch

- Choose landscape, or vertical 9:16 for Reels and TikTok
- Highlight reels now come in 10, 20 or 30 seconds, cut between your take-off, top speed, hardest pull, highest point and landing from the chase camera
v2.7.0 23 Oct 2026
Fly your own plane in Flight Replay
- Upload a 3D model of your plane (.glb) on its model page and Flight Replay flies it instead of the standard aircraft - scan it with a free phone app like Polycam, Scaniverse or KIRI Engine
- No 3D model? Give the standard aircraft your plane's colour - we suggest one from your model photo
- Compared flights fly each pilot's own 3D model or colour too
v2.6.0 23 Oct 2026
Artificial horizon in Flight Replay
- A new Artificial horizon panel shows pitch, bank and heading as your flight plays back, like a full-size instrument
- Bank is estimated from how fast you're turning at that speed; logs that record real roll use that instead
- Switch it on or off under Menu, and tap ? on the panel to see how it's worked out
v2.5.0 23 Oct 2026
Share and compare flights in Flight Replay
- Comparisons now have a link: the address bar keeps the flights you're comparing, and Copy link gives a link anyone can open when every flight's replay is shared publicly
- Each compared flight flies as its own aircraft - glider, heli, biplane or 3D, at its own size - and you can change it with the ✈ button
- Aircraft labels show each pilot's model above its aircraft while you compare (switch them off in the Compare panel)
- Fixed: flying a comparison from the same start no longer jumps the replay to the other flight's date
v2.4.1 22 Oct 2026
See the community flying, live
- The Features, Pricing and Explore pages now have a live strip showing recent flights, top landings, running challenges, new clubs and this month's totals - including how many new flyers joined
- It also shows newly shared 3D replays, challenges starting soon, this week's flights, hours flown and the month's busiest field
- Privacy first: pilots are only named if their Public Pilot Card is switched on, and flights only appear a couple of hours after landing, with the time rounded to the hour
v2.4.0 22 Oct 2026
Know when your flying buddies are out
- Get a notification when a pilot you follow checks in to fly - by default only at your sites (favourites, or where you've flown in the last 90 days). Choose 'anywhere' or switch it off in Profile
- Prefer to fly quietly? Turn off 'Let my followers know when I'm flying' in Profile
- At most one alert per pilot a day, and none if you're already at the field
- Pilot Cards: choose what your card shows, show favourite models only, and whether your name links to it on public pages. Cards now have short links like rcflyerpro.com/p/yourname
v2.3.0 22 Oct 2026
NFC take-off and landing, and a new Public Pilot Card
- Field Mode: tap a model's NFC tag to take off, and tap it again to land - the flight logs itself. A switch under Take off turns it off
- The Public Pilot Card is now a full page: your stats, personal bests, landing badges, challenge trophies, your hangar and the replays you've shared
- Pilot names on Explore, challenge standings, shared replays and club websites link to their Pilot Card - only for pilots who've switched theirs on
- Explore has a new Pilot Cards strip, and Profile has a View my card button
v2.2.1 22 Oct 2026
Flight Replay: rotate around the flight, and a Controls guide
- Free camera mode now orbits around your flight path - before, dragging spun the whole globe or tilted around a point off to the side
- New Controls button in Flight Replay: how to rotate, zoom and tilt with a mouse or touchscreen, and what each camera mode does
- Max height is now measured above the ground rather than above sea level, and GPS receivers that log before they've settled no longer set false height records
v2.2.0 22 Oct 2026
Seven new dashboard widgets
- New dashboard widgets - add them with Add widget: Needs Attention, Field Mode, Challenges, Landing Scores, Personal Records, Flying Streak and Club Events
- Needs Attention gathers everything waiting on you in one list: overdue maintenance, batteries at Watch or Retire soon, storage charges, firmware updates for your radios and CAA IDs about to expire
- Field Mode widget: tap one of your recent models and you're ready to fly; a flight in progress shows as a live timer
- Landing Scores widget: your latest score and grade, your average and best, and the badges still to earn
- The Leaderboard widget can now rank by top speed, max altitude or landings, and shows each pilot's figure
- The Batteries widget shows each pack's health (Watch or Retire soon)
- Recent Flights and GPS Flights show the landing score on each flight
- The public Explore page now shows this month's top speed and highest flight, the best landings, open challenges and clubs with a club website
v2.1.0 22 Oct 2026
Landing scores on your posts, landing-average challenges
- After you log a GPS flight, the Share screen now shows your landing score, and it's added to your Social Wall post
- Flight posts on the Social Wall show the landing score, coloured by grade
- New challenge type: Landing average - the best average across 3 or more scored landings, like the Leaders page
- Pro: a Challenge this flight button on the flight page and its Flight Report
- Creating a challenge from a flight: switch the type and the target and title follow that flight's numbers
- The Challenges menu shows how many running challenges you're in
v2.0.0 20 Oct 2026
Challenges: join once, every flight counts
- Challenges are here: join once and every flight you log counts automatically - no more uploading attempts
- Seven challenge types: top speed, max height, longest flight, distance, best landing, most flights and flying hours
- Run them for everyone, for your club, or for one flying site - with start and end dates, an optional target and a winner
- Get a notification when someone overtakes you, the day before a challenge ends, and when the results are in
- Compare your best flight with the leader's in Flight Replay, straight from the standings
- Pro pilots can create challenges - from scratch, from a site or club page, or from any flight in Flight Replay. Everyone can join
- Share a challenge link - anyone can see the standings, and your podium finishes show as trophies on Flight Stats
v1.99.2 20 Oct 2026
Failsafes on the Flight Replay timeline
- Flight Replay now marks every failsafe as a red band on the timeline, so you can see when the link dropped and how long for - click the band to jump there
- While a failsafe is playing, the screen edge glows red as well as showing the FAILSAFE banner
- Fixed: the FAILSAFE banner could stay hidden on logs that drop the stick data during a failsafe
- The Failsafe events panel shows how many there were
- On phones, side-by-side form fields now stack so nothing is squashed or cut off
v1.99.1 20 Oct 2026
Best Day to Fly is back on site pages
- Each flying site's page shows Best Day to Fly again: flights there by day of the week, with the busiest day highlighted - it follows the year filter
- My Visits: your flights at a site now show each model's photo
- Day names on site charts now appear in your language
v1.99.0 20 Oct 2026
NFC tags for batteries and models
- Stick a cheap NFC tag on a battery pack or model and tap your phone on it to open it - works on Android and iPhone
- Tap a pack while you're using Field Mode and it's added to the flight you're logging; tap a model to pick it
- On Android, Log Flight and Field Mode have a Tap to add button: press it once, then tap pack after pack
- Write a tag from the battery or model page on Android, or copy the link into the free NFC Tools app on iPhone
- QR labels still work exactly as before
v1.98.0 18 Oct 2026
Weekly Google Drive backup
- Pro pilots can now back up to their own Google Drive automatically, every week
- Choose what goes in: logbook and records, GPS tracks, original log files, documents and transmitter backups, and photos
- Only new or changed files are uploaded, into a folder called RC Flyer Pro Backup
- RC Flyer Pro can only see the backup files it creates - nothing else in your Drive
- Set it up from the Google Drive backup card in your Profile
v1.97.0 18 Oct 2026
Export your data
- Profile has a new Export your data card: one tap builds a ZIP of everything you've logged
- The ZIP has spreadsheets (CSV) of your models, flights, batteries, maintenance, components, transmitters, checklists, graveyard and wish list
- Every GPS flight is included as GPX and KML, plus the original log file you uploaded
- Your documents, transmitter backups and all your photos are in there too
- Flight Log has an Export CSV button that downloads just the flights your filters are showing
v1.96.0 16 Oct 2026
Download your GPS tracks
- Flight Reports and Flight Replay can download a flight's GPS track as GPX (Strava, Garmin, mapping apps) or KML (Google Earth, with its time slider)
v1.95.0 15 Oct 2026
Find my model
- Lost a model? Upload its GPS log and tap Find my model: you get its last GPS position on an aerial map, your distance from it and an arrow pointing the way
- If the log ended while the model was still flying, the likely search area ahead of it is shaded orange
- One tap opens walking directions in Google or Apple Maps, copies the coordinates, or sends them to friends helping you search
- Every Flight Report now shows where the log ended, with a Find my model button
- Find my model has its own menu item: upload the log from the flight you lost and go straight to the map, or pick a recent GPS flight
- On phones, the bottom menu now hides while you type instead of floating up the screen
v1.94.0 15 Oct 2026
Flight-line safety check
- Every GPS flight is now checked against your site's no-fly zones and flying area: the Flight Report shows if you crossed into a zone or left the flying area, and for how long
- It also notes time spent above 120 m (400 ft) over your take-off point, as information only - many pilots fly higher under an authorisation
- Flying sites with zones drawn show a Flight-line safety summary for the last 90 days - counts only, pilots are never named
v1.93.0 15 Oct 2026
Battery health warnings
- Every battery now gets a health verdict - Good, Watch or Retire soon - with the reasons: cycles used, internal resistance rising, voltage sagging, a weak cell or age
- Log internal resistance readings from your charger straight from the battery page; the app keeps the history and charts it, and flags a pack once its resistance has risen 40% (Watch) or 80% (Retire soon)
- You'll get a notification when one of your packs moves to Watch or Retire soon, and the battery list shows which ones need attention
v1.92.0 15 Oct 2026
Crosswind bonus and landing badges
- Landing in a crosswind is harder, so it now scores more: up to 10 bonus points, worked out from the wind across the runway when you flew
- Landing badges: First Greaser, Hat-trick (three 90+ landings in a row), Crosswind Hero and Ten Greasers. See yours on your Flight Stats page
- Top speed and G-force records now ignore GPS glitches, so a bad fix can no longer set a 200+ G record
- Tapping a pilot on a leaderboard record now opens their shared flight, or their pilot card, instead of your Hangar
v1.91.0 15 Oct 2026
Field Mode and landing scores
- Field Mode: time your flights at the field. Pick a model and battery, press Take off, then Landed, and the flight is logged with the right time, site and battery. Open it from Log Flight or the Hangar
- Field Mode keeps timing if you lock your phone or reload the page, can beep when your flight time is up, suggests a battery you haven't flown yet today, and saves on your phone when there's no signal
- Landing and take-off scores: GPS flights at a site with a runway now get a landing score out of 100 (lined up, centreline, touchdown zone, stable approach, gentle touchdown) and a take-off score, with a top-down view of your approach on the Flight Report
- Each flying site with a runway has a Best landings board, and your best landing shows in your Flight Replay personal records. No runway at your field yet? Draw one on the site page and your GPS flights there get scored
- New Landings leaderboard: pilots ranked by their average landing score (from 3 scored landings in the month or year)
v1.90.0 12 Oct 2026
Firmware checks for flight controllers and ESCs
- Record Betaflight, INAV, ArduPilot (Plane and Copter), Bluejay or AM32 firmware on a part and you'll be told when a new release is out
- FrSky Ethos now shows both release lines - 1.6.x and the newer 26.x - and each radio is checked against its own line
- The "Update available" badge on your transmitters list now sits next to the radio's name, so it no longer squashes the card
v1.89.1 12 Oct 2026
Smarter firmware checks
- Firmware "Update available" alerts for Futaba, Jeti, Spektrum and other radios now keep themselves current: when pilots start recording a newer version, everyone else on that firmware is told
- Firmware checks now run every day on their own, so update alerts arrive on time instead of waiting for someone to open a radio's page
v1.89.0 11 Oct 2026
RC Flyer Pro in Dutch
- RC Flyer Pro is now available in Dutch (Nederlands) - the whole app, emails and the monthly stats email
- It's picked automatically if your browser is set to Dutch, or choose it from the language menu
- AI features (model lookups, listing writer, checklist generator, flight debrief) write in Dutch when the app is in Dutch
- New accounts in Dutch or Italian now default to euros for costs
v1.88.0 11 Oct 2026
Futaba GPS logs: more radios, pick your flight
- Futaba telemetry logs now upload when your radio has other sensors besides GPS (ESC, voltage, altitude and so on) - before, these were rejected
- When a log holds more than one flight, a new "Which flight?" choice lets you pick the one to replay. Upload the same file again to add the others
- Futaba logs don't record the date, so the upload form now asks for it too (it suggests the date the file was saved), instead of putting the flight on the day you uploaded it
- Stale GPS readings (a frozen position, or old values repeated when logging restarts) no longer show up as the plane parked on the field
- The flying site is matched from the flight you picked
v1.87.0 10 Oct 2026
Firmware checks, transmitter service log and battery
- Record which firmware your transmitter runs and see "Update available" when a newer release is out: FrSky Ethos, EdgeTX and ExpressLRS are checked automatically every day; Futaba, Jeti and Spektrum too
- Receivers can have their firmware recorded and checked as well (ExpressLRS, FrSky ACCESS…)
- The firmware is guessed from your radio's make and model to save typing
- New service log on each transmitter for gimbal, switch and stick-end work
- Link a battery to your transmitter to keep an eye on its age and charging
- Get a notification (and a phone push, if Maintenance pushes are on) when a newer firmware comes out for a radio or receiver you've recorded
v1.86.0 10 Oct 2026
Failsafe and range-check log
- New Safety checks on each model: record failsafe tests and range checks, pass or fail, with the date, transmitter and notes
- See at a glance when each was last done and when the next is due; choose your reminder interval (30 days to a year, or off)
- Ticking a failsafe or range-check item on your pre-flight checklist when you log a flight records it automatically
- Your Hangar shows a reminder when a model's check is overdue or the last test failed
- Each transmitter lists the failsafe status of the models linked to it
v1.85.0 10 Oct 2026
Transmitter usage, serial numbers and more
- Each transmitter now shows its usage: flights, flying time, first and last used, flights per month for the past year, and the models you fly on it most
- The Transmitters list shows flights and flying time on each radio
- Add a serial number to a transmitter (only you can see it), handy for insurance or if it's ever stolen; keep the receipt in its Documents
- GPS uploads from FrSky Ethos, RadioMaster, Spektrum, Futaba and Jeti radios now pick your matching transmitter automatically when the model doesn't have one linked
- New "How to back up your models" guide on each transmitter, with steps for Ethos, EdgeTX, Futaba, Spektrum and Jeti
v1.84.0 10 Oct 2026
Flight Reports
- New Flight Report for every GPS flight: open it from the flight's page or Flight Replay's menu
- Headline numbers at a glance: time in the air, distance, highest point, top speed, peak G and how far away you flew, plus the weather at take-off
- "Worth a look" picks out anything unusual: receiver voltage drops, battery sag, weak signal, failsafes, hot ESCs or motors
- Height and speed profile, track map, power, radio link, handling, and your climb-out and approach
- Pro: see how the flight compares with the same model's previous flights, and spot a battery wearing out
- Print it or save it as a PDF; shared replays get a read-only report too
v1.83.0 10 Oct 2026
Graphs: ArduPilot logs, GPS quality and long flights
- Flight Coach / ArduPilot .BIN logs now bring their sensor data into Graphs: attitude (and the attitude the autopilot asked for), GPS quality and accuracy, plus battery, barometer, airspeed, vibration and RC in/out when the log has them
- Pixhawk and RC Light Systems logs add GPS quality to Graphs: satellites, HDOP, fix quality and the GPS's own speed and course
- RC Light Systems flights keep their receiver voltage and stick graphs alongside
- Long flights get a proper hours:minutes time axis with sensible tick spacing
v1.82.0 10 Oct 2026
Graphs for more radios
- Flight Replay's Graphs now show every logged sensor for RadioMaster/EdgeTX, FrSky Ethos, Spektrum and Futaba logs too, not just Jeti
- Spektrum values are grouped by sensor (receiver, vario, ESC, turbine, gyro…), Futaba by its sensor slots
- Sticks, switches and channel outputs can be graphed, shown as a percentage
- New Sticks preset; the Radio preset now sticks to signal and receiver values
- Flights you've already uploaded from these radios get the full sensor list too
- Values that never change during the flight are left out, to keep the list short
v1.81.0 10 Oct 2026
Flight Replay: telemetry graphs
- New Graphs button in Flight Replay opens telemetry charts under the 3D view, like JETIstudio: plot height, speed, climb rate, G-force and distance from take-off for any GPS flight
- Jeti logs bring every sensor across: ESC voltage, current, capacity and RPM, varios, receiver G-force and attitude, temperatures and more
- Up to three charts at once, each with several values and its own scales; quick Flight, Power and Radio presets
- The graphs follow the replay as it plays. Click (or drag a finger along) a chart to jump the replay there, drag to zoom in, double-click to zoom out
- Download the plotted values as a CSV file
- Works on shared replays and the no-account Try Flight Replay page too
v1.80.0 10 Oct 2026
Jeti support for Flight Replay
- Flight Replay now supports Jeti Duplex radios: upload the telemetry .log from your DC or DS transmitter, recorded with a Jeti MGPS or another GPS sensor connected (beta)
- If you log transmitter controls, your stick movements show on the Transmitter panel and colour the flight path by throttle
- Receiver voltage and signal quality come across from the log too
- Works on the no-account Try Flight Replay page as well, so Jeti pilots can try it before signing up
- Flight Replay's menu now has a language selector, handy when someone shares a replay with you
v1.79.0 10 Oct 2026
Flight Replay: key events, model info and more
- New Key Events panel: take-off, landing, highest point, top speed and hardest pull, with matching coloured markers on the 3D path. Tap any of them to jump straight there
- Replays now start just before take-off, instead of while the logger was still sitting on the ground
- New Model Info panel with the model's photos (tap to enlarge), specs and, on shared replays, the pilot
- Failsafe events are listed with their time and length, and marked on the path so you can see exactly where they happened
- "Show GPS fixes" in the menu puts a dot on every raw GPS point; tap one to see its details
- Panels can now be minimised to just their title bar while staying on screen, and each has a ? button explaining what it shows
- Fixed: some flights, including Flight Coach logs, played faster than the speed selected
- Fixed: on RC Light Systems flights the transmitter sticks, failsafe warning and throttle colours now follow the flight properly
v1.78.0 9 Oct 2026
Club websites, try Flight Replay, and help when you need it
- Clubs can now have a free public website at rcflyerpro.com/c/your-club, set up by club admins on the club's new Website tab
- Club websites show your events, flying fields with directions, today's flying conditions, the club leaderboard and public documents, plus any news posts and photo albums you choose to share
- Visitors can message the club through its website, and join the club in a couple of taps
- Try Flight Replay without an account: upload a GPS log and watch your flight in 3D straight away, then save it to a free account if you like it
- New Contact support form for any problem, including moving over from the old RC Flyer app
- Moving from the old app: your old data is now kept until 31 December 2027, so you can still bring it across after the old app closes on 30 November
v1.77.0 9 Oct 2026
Free plan and free Pro access changes
- Free Pro access from the old app or a voucher now shows when it ends, and you'll get an email 14 days and 3 days before it does, and on the day
- If your Pro access ends while you have more than 3 active models, 3 stay fully usable and the rest become read-only: nothing is deleted, and upgrading unlocks them all again
- Choose which 3 models stay unlocked from My Models; selling, burying or transferring a model frees up a slot
- Restoring a sold model now counts towards the Free plan's 3 active models
v1.76.0 8 Oct 2026
Better previews when you share
- Shared flight replay links now show a preview card on Facebook, WhatsApp and other apps, with the model photo, flying site, flight time, top speed and max height
- Public pilot cards, Plans, Sign-up and What's New links get proper previews too
- Voucher QR codes on partner flyers take you straight to sign-up with the code ready to use, and their link previews show the offer
v1.75.0 7 Oct 2026
More AI: setup specs, batteries, listings and checklists
- AI model lookups now also find the centre of gravity, recommended control throws and recommended battery from the manual, shown in a new Setup card on your model page
- New battery lookup: type a battery's name and AI fills in the chemistry, cells, capacity, C rating and picture
- Batteries now have a C rating field
- Selling a model? "Write it with AI" drafts your marketplace listing from the model's specs and flight history
- Generate a pre-flight checklist tailored to any of your models when creating a new checklist
- All AI features are for Pro members and count towards your monthly AI allowance
v1.74.0 7 Oct 2026
Faster AI lookups, product photos and a monthly allowance
- AI lookups for model quick-add, model specs and transmitters are now faster
- Found the right model or transmitter? Tick "Use this picture" to save the product photo straight to it
- Pictures taken from a seller's website stay private to your hangar, and uploading your own photo replaces them
- Transmitter lookup now finds a product picture too
- Pro members now get a monthly allowance of AI lookups, shown next to each AI button
- Searches answered from our saved results, and lookups that fail, don't count towards your allowance, which resets on the 1st of every month
v1.73.0 4 Oct 2026
New Flying Conditions widget
- Add the new Flying Conditions widget to your Hangar for weather turned into flying answers at any of your sites
- Wind and gusts with a compass dial, including the crosswind on your site's runway
- How much flying light is left before sunset, and when rain is next likely
- Visibility for line-of-sight flying, plus a fog risk warning for misty mornings
- Battery temperature, with a warning when it's cold enough to hurt LiPo performance
- Each tile is colour-coded green, amber or red, and you can choose which tiles to show
- Flying Conditions now also appear on every flying site's page, replacing the old weather summary
v1.72.0 1 Oct 2026
Met Office weather warnings for your flying sites
- Official Met Office yellow, amber and red weather warnings now appear on any flying site they cover - wind, rain, thunderstorms, snow, fog, ice and more
- Shown on the site page (tap a warning to see what to expect) and at the top of the Weather and Wind Map widgets in your Hangar
- Includes warnings coming up later, not just ones already in force, so you can plan ahead
v1.71.0 1 Oct 2026
Glider conditions and wind at height
- New Soaring conditions for glider pilots: thermals rated hour by hour (None, Weak, Moderate or Good) with the best time to fly and roughly how high the lift goes
- Slope sites now show whether the slope is working right now, and when it will be - set which way your slope faces in Edit site to switch it on
- Shown on site pages and on the Weather and Wind Map widgets, with a slope arrow on the Wind Map coloured by whether it's working
- Tap "How is this worked out?" to see exactly what goes into each rating
- Weather and Wind Map widgets now show the wind at 80 m and 120 m, highlighted when it's much windier up there than on the ground
v1.70.0 1 Oct 2026
Draw your flight path as you fly in Flight Replay
- New Flight path option in the Flight Replay menu: show the full path, draw it as the aircraft flies, or hide it
- Draw mode keeps the line exactly behind your aircraft in its throttle colours, and un-draws if you scrub back
- Your choice is remembered on this device
v1.69.2 29 Sep 2026
Safer widget removal in Hangar
- Fixed a mistake where the remove (X) button sat right next to the fullscreen exit button, making it easy to accidentally delete a widget instead of closing fullscreen
- Removing a widget now always asks for confirmation first
v1.69.1 29 Sep 2026
Faster search, clustered map on Flying Sites
- Fixed a typing delay in the Flying Sites search box
- Map view now groups nearby sites into clusters instead of a wall of overlapping pins - zoom in to split them apart
v1.69.0 29 Sep 2026
2,000+ real RC flying sites added worldwide
- Bulk-imported 2,035 real RC/model flying sites from OpenAIP's public RC Airfields dataset, across 63 countries - a big jump from what pilots had added here so far
- Data: OpenAIP (openaip.net)
- Fixed Flying Sites loading slowly after the import - now loads in well under a second
- Fixed searching/grouping by country for the new sites
v1.68.6 28 Sep 2026
Reorder your models, see maintenance due at a glance
- My Models: pick a model up and drag it wherever you want with the new "My order" sort
- Model cards now show an amber/red border and a due-summary when maintenance is coming up or overdue - no need to check the Maintenance page first
v1.68.5 28 Sep 2026
Throttle legend in Flight Replay
- Added a colour key explaining the flight path's throttle colour-coding (green = idle, red = full throttle) - shown when the flight has RC channel data
v1.68.4 28 Sep 2026
Aviation-style G-force gauge in Flight Replay
- Replaced the plain G-force number/bar with a real needle gauge - colour-coded zones, a NORMAL/MODERATE/HIGH/EXTREME classification, and a peak marker
- Now tracks Current, Peak and Average G for the flight - tap Peak to jump straight to that moment
v1.68.3 28 Sep 2026
Fix Flight Replay camera drift in Free mode
- Fixed the 3D camera pivoting around the wrong point when manually dragging the view after using Follow or Top mode
v1.68.2 28 Sep 2026
Add your flying history from before RC Flyer Pro
- Profile now has a "Flying history from before RC Flyer Pro" section - add your total starting flights/hours in one go instead of logging one long flight
- Counts toward your lifetime totals and milestones, never your leaderboard or monthly/period stats
- Prefer to split it by aircraft instead? Each model already has its own starting totals on its edit page
v1.68.1 28 Sep 2026
Airspace on the Wind Map widget, fixes
- Wind Map widget now has its own Official Airspace toggle, with the same shapes and "this site sits within" banner as the site map
- Fixed a bug where the No-Fly Zone, Runway and Flying Area layers could fail to load on a site's map
- Improved the readability of the airspace banner
v1.68.0 28 Sep 2026
Real airspace data on your flying sites
- Flying sites now show official airspace (controlled airspace, danger/restricted areas) alongside your own drawn No-Fly Zones, Runway and Flying Area - on the site map and in Flight Replay's 3D view
- Reference data only, not real-time - always check an official source before flying
v1.67.0 28 Sep 2026
Quick add a model with AI
- Pro members can now type a model's name on Add a model and pick the matching product from a list - its specs, manuals and details are filled in for you to check before saving
- Matching models already shared in the Model Database appear instantly, alongside results found on the web
- Add a model now has an optional Specifications section (wingspan, length, weight, power, motor/engine, material, scale), so you no longer need to edit the model afterwards to add them
v1.66.0 26 Sep 2026
Runway and Flying Area overlays in Flight Replay
- Flight Replay now shows a site's drawn Runway and Flying Area in 3D, alongside the existing No-Fly Zones - each with its own on/off toggle
- The Weather panel now shows wind direction, plus a crosswind/headwind reading against the site's runway for that historical flight
v1.65.0 26 Sep 2026
Tidier Compare Flights picker in Flight Replay
- Flights are now grouped by flying site instead of one long list
- A search box appears once you've got enough GPS flights logged to need one
- Each flight shows its model photo (or a fallback icon) so they're easier to tell apart at a glance
v1.64.0 26 Sep 2026
See past preflight checklists on a flight
- A flight's checklist page now shows exactly what was checked (and what wasn't) before that flight
v1.63.0 26 Sep 2026
Preflight Checklists
- Create your own reusable preflight checklist templates, and set a default one for each model
- Run through it right on the Log Flight page - tick each item off as you actually check it
- Every account starts with a standard 6-item preflight checklist to get going
v1.62.0 26 Sep 2026
Print a label straight from your battery or model page
- A Print Label button next to the QR code prints a neat sheet of labels using your device's own printer settings
- No app or extra hardware needed - works with any printer, including label printers set up at the OS level
v1.61.0 26 Sep 2026
Draw a Flying Area on your site's map
- A third map layer alongside No-Fly Zones and Runway - mark the area where flying is actually sanctioned
- Shows on the site's own map, the Hangar Wind Map widget, and the public Explore map
v1.60.0 26 Sep 2026
Recommended take-off/landing direction on the map
- A green arrow now shows the best take-off/landing direction on a runway's map, based on the current wind
- Shows on both a flying site's own map and the Hangar Wind Map widget
v1.59.0 25 Sep 2026
Per-cell battery readings, stick packs, and QR tags
- Record internal resistance and voltage per cell, not just per pack - get warned if one cell is dragging the rest down
- Group batteries that always fly together into a "stick pack" and add them all with one tap when logging a flight
- Battery and model QR codes now scan straight to the right page - no in-app scanner needed, any phone camera works
v1.58.0 25 Sep 2026
A better wind picture on the Hangar and site maps
- Wind now shows as a small forecast "fan" - now, plus a few hours ahead - instead of one static arrow
- New on the Hangar Wind Map widget and on a flying site's own map
v1.57.0 25 Sep 2026
Runway width, length, and picking your primary strip
- Runway width now shows in your own unit (ft/m) instead of always metres
- The runway's crosswind now shows right on the site page, not just the Hangar widget
- The runway list now shows each strip's length as well as its width
- A site with more than one runway lets you pick which is "primary" for crosswind
v1.56.0 25 Sep 2026
Runway drawing, fullscreen map, and Wind Map overlays
- Draw your runway as a real rectangle (start, end, then its width) instead of just a line
- New fullscreen button on a site's map to see it - and its zones and runway - more easily
- The Wind Map dashboard widget can now optionally overlay a site's no-fly zones and runway
v1.55.0 25 Sep 2026
Draw your runway for live crosswind readings
- Mark your flying site's runway centreline (and optionally its width) right on its map
- The Hangar Wind Map widget now shows a live crosswind and headwind/tailwind reading for that runway
- Anyone who has checked in at a site (or an admin) can draw or update its runway
v1.54.0 25 Sep 2026
A "What's New" popup when you log in
- If something's shipped since you were last here, you'll now see a quick popup summarising what's new the next time you log in - no more digging through the release notes page to find out.
v1.53.2 24 Sep 2026
Recently Joined section redesigned on the Explore page
- Recently joined pilots on the Explore page now show as a proper card strip with each pilot's name visible, instead of just a row of avatars with a hover tooltip.
v1.53.1 24 Sep 2026
Nicer flying site map popups on the Explore page
- Clicking a flying site on the Explore page's map now shows a proper card with the site's photo and a "Get Started" button, instead of a plain text label.
v1.53.0 24 Sep 2026
Explore page: live stats, new pilots, and popular models
- The new Explore page now also shows live pilot/flight/site counts, a strip of recently joined pilots, popular models from the Model Database, and which transmitter/GPS devices RC Flyer Pro supports.
v1.52.0 24 Sep 2026
New: a public Explore page - no account needed
- New /explore.php page: see this month's top pilots, recently shared GPS flight replays, and a map of flying sites - no account needed to look around. Share the link anywhere.
v1.51.0 23 Sep 2026
Italiano è arrivato - Italian is here
- RC Flyer Pro is now available in Italian, alongside English, French, German and Spanish. Switch any time from the language picker.
v1.50.0 23 Sep 2026
Battery health tracking
- Each battery's page now shows a Battery Health panel: cycle life remaining, and a voltage trend derived from the remaining-voltage readings you've logged after flights - flags if a pack's voltage is sagging more than it used to.
- New optional field to log a pack's internal resistance (mΩ) from your charger, if you want to track it.
- The battery fleet page now shows an average cycle-life-remaining stat across your active packs.
v1.49.0 23 Sep 2026
@ autocomplete for Messages
- Starting a new message now searches for pilots by username as you type, instead of requiring you to know their exact username.
- Typing @ inside a message now suggests matching pilots to mention, the same way it already worked in the club invite box.
v1.48.0 23 Sep 2026
FrSky ETHOS transmitter log support
- Added support for uploading GPS telemetry logs recorded on FrSky ETHOS transmitters (Tandem X20/X20S/X18/X14) - a new device tile on the GPS log upload screen.
- Flight Replay's Transmitter widget now shows radio signal strength alongside battery voltage where the uploaded log includes it.
v1.46.1 23 Sep 2026
Weather and Wind Map widgets get the thumbnail site picker too
- Picking a flying site for the Weather or Wind Map dashboard widget now uses the same searchable picker with thumbnails as everywhere else, instead of a plain dropdown.
v1.46.0 23 Sep 2026
Nicer model/site pickers on Clubs and Transmitters
- Adding a site to a club, and linking a model to a transmitter, now use the same searchable picker with thumbnails as Log Flight - easier to find the right one at a glance instead of scanning a plain text list.
v1.44.0 17 Sep 2026
Smarter transmitter channel mapping
- Flight Replay's Transmitter widget used to assume one fixed stick/switch layout for everyone. Now you can set your radio's real channel assignment once on its Transmitter page and every flight logged with it picks it up automatically - and if one aircraft's switches are wired differently to the rest, override just that on the Model page. New Channel Assignment section on both Transmitter and Model edit pages.
v1.43.1 17 Sep 2026
Aircraft Model now has a Size control too
- Flight Replay's new Aircraft Model menu section now also has a Size slider (0.5x-4x) to scale the 3D model up or down, same as the old Replay app - also saved against the flight.
v1.43.0 17 Sep 2026
Pick your own aircraft shape in Flight Replay
- New in the Flight Replay menu: Aircraft Model lets you manually choose which 3D shape represents your flight (3D/Aerobatic, Glider, Helicopter, Bi-plane) instead of relying on an automatic guess - handy since the auto-guess showed almost every fixed-wing flight and every drone as the same aerobatic model. Your choice is saved against the flight, so it loads correctly every time after.
v1.42.0 17 Sep 2026
Flight Replay finally works properly on mobile
- The floating HUD widgets (Speed/Altitude, G-Force, Transmitter, Weather) now dock into a single bottom sheet on phones instead of floating draggable cards scattered around the screen - tap "More stats" to expand beyond the always-visible Speed/Altitude/Distance panel.
- Removed the old "use a desktop browser" notice - it's no longer needed.
v1.41.1 17 Sep 2026
Shared Flights widget now shows views, duration, and top speed
- Each flight in the Shared Flights widget now shows its view count, flight duration, and top speed at a glance, plus a one-tap copy-link button to grab the share URL without opening the replay.
v1.41.0 17 Sep 2026
See what other pilots are flying with the new Shared Flights widget
- New Hangar dashboard widget: Shared Flights shows the latest Flight Replays other pilots have made public, so you can watch what everyone else is flying.
v1.40.1 17 Sep 2026
Fixed a public replay link not loading for signed-out visitors
- A shared Flight Replay link (Menu -> Share) could fail to load the 3D replay at all for a visitor who wasn't logged in, even though it worked fine for the pilot who created the link. Fixed.
v1.40.0 17 Sep 2026
Share a Flight Replay with anyone - no account needed
- New in the Flight Replay menu: create a public link to any of your GPS-tracked flights. Anyone with the link can watch the full 3D replay, no RC Flyer Pro account required. Turn it off any time to revoke the link.
v1.39.0 17 Sep 2026
Flight Replay now warns if your flight path crossed a no-fly zone
- During a 3D Flight Replay, a warning now flashes on screen while the flight path is inside one of the site's marked no-fly zones, naming the zone.
v1.38.0 17 Sep 2026
Fixed wildly inflated GPS top speed and G-force readings
- Top Speed and Peak G-Force on GPS Replay uploads could come out absurd (e.g. 1718 mph, 431 G) on an otherwise normal flight - caused by high-rate GPS logs (5-10Hz) treating a single stray position reading as real motion. Fixed by using the GPS receiver's own reported speed/course where available instead of estimating from position alone, and capping all readings at physically plausible limits.
- As a side effect, Peak G-Force now correctly reflects real turns (previously it could miss a genuine G-loaded turn while overreacting to ordinary GPS jitter).
v1.37.3 16 Sep 2026
Admins now get an email when a new pilot signs up
- Behind-the-scenes only: app admins are now emailed whenever someone creates a new account, whether via email/password or Google sign-in.
v1.37.2 16 Sep 2026
Wall of Fame now shows this year's current leaders too
- The Wall of Fame page now has an "In Progress" section at the top showing who's currently leading each category this year - not a final result, just the live standings, so the current year no longer looks missing from the page.
v1.37.1 16 Sep 2026
Fixed push notification category settings not appearing saved
- Push notification category checkboxes on your Profile page always showed unchecked after saving, even though your choices actually were saved and respected - a display bug, not a functional one. Fixed.
- Also corrected "Member Since" for pilots who imported from the legacy app - it was showing the day they created their new account instead of their real original join date. Backfilled for everyone already migrated.
v1.37.0 16 Sep 2026
Wall of Fame - permanent year-end achievement badges
- Every completed year now has real winners for Most Flights, Most Airtime, and Longest Flight - browse them all on the new Wall of Fame page.
- A pilot who's won a category keeps a permanent trophy badge on their pilot card, forever - even after the leaderboard resets for the next year.
- Backfilled for every year of real flight history already in the app (2021-2025), and automatically recomputed whenever someone imports flights from the legacy app, so importing old data can still correctly award (or reassign) a past year's title.
v1.36.1 15 Sep 2026
Fixed Like/Bookmark/Comments missing for admins in the Model Database
- An admin viewing someone else's model in the Model Database was shown the owner's own management view instead of the normal Like/Bookmark/Comments section, so admins effectively couldn't like, bookmark, or comment on any model. Fixed - the Edit button for moderation is unaffected.
v1.36.0 15 Sep 2026
View counts and likes on Marketplace listings
- Every Marketplace listing now tracks real view counts and can be liked - shown on both the listing grid and the detail page. Your own visits to your own listing don't count, and you can't like your own listing.
v1.35.4 15 Sep 2026
Click a component in a Marketplace listing for a closer look
- Any item in a listing's "What's installed" section can now be clicked to open a larger photo and its details in a lightbox, instead of the row being static.
v1.35.3 15 Sep 2026
Fixed the Marketplace listing page's header
- The app icon and "RC Flyer Pro" logo on a shared listing's detail page now render correctly, and there's an About link for visitors who aren't logged in yet.
v1.35.2 15 Sep 2026
One-click contact from a Marketplace listing
- "Contact the seller" on a Marketplace listing's detail page now goes straight into a message thread with them, with a relevant opener already typed in for you - instead of sending you back to the Marketplace grid to find and click their name.
v1.35.1 15 Sep 2026
Fixed a confusing GPS upload error, and added real rolls to Flight Replay
- Uploading a GPS log without first picking a model could show a confusing "not in active hangar" error instead of just asking you to choose a model - fixed.
- The 3D Flight Replay viewer now shows real bank/roll angle for aircraft with attitude data (e.g. ArduPilot .BIN uploads) instead of only ever pointing along the flight path with no visible rolls.
v1.35.0 15 Sep 2026
A real Marketplace listing page, shareable without logging in
- Every Marketplace listing now has its own detail page - specs, what's installed, flight history, and the seller - reachable without an account so a listing can be shared to social media or a forum and still show a real preview.
- Marketplace cards got a View Details link and a Share button.
- Viewing your own listing this way doubles as a preview of exactly what a buyer sees, with a Manage Listing button swapped in for you.
- The Marketplace nav item now shows a badge when there's something new for sale you haven't seen yet.
- Listings can now show a "Total invested" figure (the model's own cost plus everything spent on its parts) and the cost of each installed component, right on the card and the detail page.
- Sellers can now choose exactly what appears on their listing - specifications, installed components (with cost), flight history, and total invested can each be switched on or off.
v1.34.0 15 Sep 2026
Model cost, component quantity, and a total-invested figure
- Models can now have their own cost, separate from parts.
- Components can now have a quantity (e.g. 7 identical servos in one line) - cost is per unit, and every total automatically multiplies by quantity.
- A model's page now shows a "Total invested" stat combining the model's own cost with everything spent on its installed components.
v1.33.1 15 Sep 2026
Add a photo to a component
- Components (servos, motors, receivers, ESCs and the rest) can now have a photo, shown wherever they're listed - on the model's parts list, the Components overview, and the component's own edit page.
v1.33.0 15 Sep 2026
More control over the club embed widget
- Club embeds can now show or hide individual sections (stats, leaderboard, events, documents) and include a "Join This Club" button linking back to the club's page - pick exactly what you want visible from the Embed modal.
v1.32.2 15 Sep 2026
@username autocomplete when inviting pilots to a club
- Typing @ in the club invite box now searches usernames live and lets you pick the right pilot from a dropdown, instead of having to know and type their exact username.
v1.32.1 15 Sep 2026
Fixed slow, silent photo uploads in club albums
- Adding photos to a club album now shows a real upload progress bar and uploads one photo at a time, so it's always clear what's happening - and it can no longer silently fail partway through with nothing saved when adding several photos at once.
v1.32.0 15 Sep 2026
Club photo albums
- Any club member can now create a photo album, add photos to it, and download, like or comment on any photo in it - a shared scrapbook for the club, not just an admin-managed gallery.
v1.31.0 15 Sep 2026
Embed a club on your own website
- Clubs can now be embedded on the club's own website, same as Flying Sites already could - a live stats widget (members, sites, flights this year, upcoming events, top pilots, and public documents) in a card or compact badge, light or dark.
v1.30.0 15 Sep 2026
Club documents
- Club admins can now upload documents (club rules, meeting minutes, insurance certificates) and choose whether each one is members-only or public - visible to any pilot browsing the club's page, even non-members.
v1.29.0 15 Sep 2026
Committee roles and membership dues
- Club admins can now give members a committee title (Treasurer, Safety Officer, etc.) and track membership dues - amount, currency, and paid-until date - right from the roster. No payment processing, just the admin record-keeping a treasurer would otherwise do in a spreadsheet, plus automatic renewal reminders as a due date approaches.
v1.28.0 15 Sep 2026
Facilities, frequency notes and access info on Flying Sites
- Flying Sites can now record whether there's parking, toilets or a clubhouse, plus free-text frequency/radio notes and access notes (gate codes, landowner permission, parking rules). Shown as icons on the site page and map popups when present.
v1.27.1 15 Sep 2026
Clearer site labels on Clubs
- The site thumbnails at the top of a club page are now labelled "Flying Sites", so it's clear what they are at a glance.
v1.27.0 14 Sep 2026
Upload Precision Black Box logs directly
- Flight Coach / Precision Black Box GPS uploads now accept the native .bin file directly - no more needing a pre-parsed .json. It's read and converted right in your browser when you upload it, same as before for every other device.
v1.26.1 13 Sep 2026
Pending invites on the club roster
- Club admins can now see who's been invited but hasn't joined yet, right on the Roster tab, with a one-tap cancel for invites you no longer want to leave open.
v1.26.0 13 Sep 2026
Invite pilots by @username
- Inviting someone to a club now accepts an @username as well as an email address - handy when you know a pilot's handle but not their email. Existing pilots get an instant in-app notification instead of waiting on an email.
v1.25.1 13 Sep 2026
Search and sort on Clubs
- The Clubs page can now be searched and sorted by name or member count, on both My Clubs and Browse.
v1.25.0 13 Sep 2026
Club Feed
- Clubs now have their own feed for club-wide announcements - unlike a site's Incident/Announcement posts, a club post reaches every member no matter which of the club's sites they usually fly from. Any member can post; find it on the new Feed tab on your club's page.
v1.24.0 13 Sep 2026
Clubs
- Flying Sites can now become real clubs - a roster, invite pilots by email, a club leaderboard, and simple events with RSVPs. A club can list more than one site (handy if yours flies from two or three fields), and you can belong to several clubs. Start one from any site page, and find yours from the new Clubs tab or the My Clubs dashboard widget.
v1.23.0 11 Sep 2026
Detailed map popups on Flying Sites
- Clicking a site marker on the Flying Sites map now shows the full site card - photo, membership status, allowed disciplines and engine types, flight/pilot/check-in stats, and quick actions - instead of just a name and flight count. Tap through to the site page from the popup, same as the list view.
v1.22.0 11 Sep 2026
Stay logged in
- You should no longer get logged out mid-flying-day - the app now stays signed in on a device for weeks, not just until your browser tab or app decides to clear things out (which iPhones in particular can do surprisingly fast). Just log in once as normal; logging out is still there if you ever want it.
v1.21.0 9 Sep 2026
Edit a feature request after posting it
- You can now edit a feature request's title, description, and photos after submitting it - previously there was no way to fix a typo or add more detail once it was posted. Admins can edit any request.
v1.20.0 9 Sep 2026
Announcements on the Flying Site embed widget
- A flying site's embeddable widget (for a club's own website) now shows its latest Announcements, so visitors see things like a field closure or event notice without needing to open the app.
v1.19.0 9 Sep 2026
A proper Profile menu item
- Profile now has its own entry in the sidebar and mobile Menu, under a new "Account" section - previously the only way in was clicking your own avatar, with no label hinting that's where account settings live.
v1.18.0 8 Sep 2026
Search flying sites too
- Picking a flying site on Log Flight, Flight Edit, and Pilots Nearby is now a type-to-search box with site photos, instead of one long dropdown of every site in the system - Log Flight's "nearest site" auto-detect still works exactly as before.
v1.17.0 8 Sep 2026
Profile photos in comments
- Comments on feature requests, Social Wall posts, and Plane Database entries now show the commenter's own profile photo, matching everywhere else in the app - previously they always showed a plain initial instead.
v1.16.0 8 Sep 2026
Search on the Models page too
- The Models page now has a search box of its own once you've got more than 8 models - filters your fleet as you type, on top of last release's search on Log Flight, Maintenance and Graveyard.
v1.15.0 7 Sep 2026
Search your models
- Got 30, 40, 50+ models? Picking one to log a flight, add maintenance, or bury in the Graveyard is now a type-to-search box instead of a long dropdown to scroll through.
v1.14.0 7 Sep 2026
Share transmitter backups with another pilot
- Backed up a model to your transmitter? Share one or more of those backups with another RC Flyer Pro user by their username, straight from the transmitter's page - it lands in their own "Shared with me" list under Transmitters, ready to download.
v1.13.0 7 Sep 2026
Correct local times, a bigger Sites map, and site photos on your flights
- Fixed two real timezone bugs: the Log Flight date/time field, and GPS-uploaded flights, were both defaulting to the server's own clock instead of your device's local time - flights logged outside Europe could land hours off (even on the wrong day) unless corrected by hand every time. Both now use your own local time correctly.
- On a model's page, recent flights now show the flying site's photo, and a "View all flights for this model" link once there are more than can fit, taking you to a pre-filtered Flight Log.
- On desktop, the Flying Sites Map tab now actually gives the map the extra room it always should have - previously it just re-filtered a still-narrow map instead of expanding it.
v1.12.0 3 Sep 2026
Push notifications for everything else
- Push notifications now cover new followers, Social Wall mentions, Graveyard activity, Maintenance due dates, Marketplace matches, feature request updates, and direct messages - not just CAA reminders and flying conditions.
- Choose exactly which ones you want pushed to you from Profile, grouped to match the app's own sections.
v1.11.0 2 Sep 2026
Push notifications: CAA reminders and flying-conditions alerts
- New push notifications - get reminded before your CAA Flyer ID or Operator ID expires (also emailed, as a backup), and get alerted when flying conditions turn good at one of your favourite sites.
- Turn these on (and choose which ones you want) from Profile - push works per-device, so enable it on each phone or computer you'd like to hear from.
v1.10.0 2 Sep 2026
A Getting Started checklist on your Hangar
- New pilots now see a Getting Started widget on their Hangar dashboard with six easy first steps - log a flight, add a model, set up maintenance, check in at a site, post on the Social Wall, and follow a fellow pilot.
- It's a normal dashboard widget, so remove it any time - or add it back later from Add Widget.
v1.9.0 1 Sep 2026
Second-precise flight times, and starting totals for preloved models
- Logging a flight's duration now supports minutes and seconds (or decimal minutes), instead of always rounding to the nearest minute - fixes small drift between your own records and the app's totals building up over many flights.
- Bought a model secondhand with flights already on it? Set its starting flight count and hours on the model's edit page - it's added to that model's totals and maintenance due-dates from day one, without affecting your leaderboard or monthly stats.
v1.8.0 1 Sep 2026
Refer a Friend
- Pro members can now refer friends to RC Flyer Pro - get your own referral link and invite friends straight from the app.
- When your friend joins as a paying member, they get free months of Pro, and so do you.
v1.7.1 1 Sep 2026
Documents now open inside the app
- Opening a document (manual, certificate, reference file) no longer takes over the whole screen with no way back - especially on the installed mobile app, where that could strand you outside the app entirely. Documents now open in a viewer inside the app with a proper close button.
v1.7.0 31 Aug 2026
Out of Beta
- The "Beta" badge is gone from the sign-in page and the app menu - RC Flyer Pro is out of beta.
v1.6.3 31 Aug 2026
Fuel usage logging for I/C & turbine models
- Glow, gas, and turbine-powered models can now log fuel used per flight, alongside the existing battery tracking for electric models.
- Amounts respect your Metric/Imperial preference from Profile (ml or fl oz).
v1.6.2 31 Aug 2026
Maintenance now shows flights left, not just done
- Maintenance items now show how many flights (or hours) are left before they're due, e.g. "3 flights left" - handy for checking a model is ready before an event, even when nothing's due soon yet.
v1.6.1 31 Aug 2026
Real progress when uploading a GPS log
- Uploading a GPS flight log now shows a real progress bar and status instead of a frozen page.
- After uploading, you land on a clear "Flight Logged!" summary with a straight link to the 3D replay, instead of an edit form that made it unclear whether your flight had already been saved.
v1.6.0 30 Aug 2026
Monthly flying stats email
- Every pilot now gets a monthly email recapping their flying - flights, hours, longest flight, badges earned, new personal bests, milestones crossed, and where you rank on this month's leaderboard.
- On by default - you can turn it off any time from your Profile.
v1.5.6 30 Aug 2026
Newsletter sign-up
- New pilots are now added to the RC Flyer Pro monthly newsletter automatically - you can opt out any time from your Profile.
v1.5.5 30 Aug 2026
Fixed the release notes page layout
- The "What's New" heading no longer scrolls away into the middle of the page now that the release list is long - it stays near the top.
v1.5.4 30 Aug 2026
Fixed Site Feed posts leaking onto the Social Wall
- Posts made in a flying site's own Site Feed no longer show up on the general Social Wall - they now stay where they belong.
v1.5.3 30 Aug 2026
Satellite view on every map
- Every map in the app (Flying Sites, a site's own map, the Wind Map widget, and the location picker) now has a Satellite/Map toggle.
v1.5.2 30 Aug 2026
Fixed the no-fly zone "Draw Zone" button
- Fixed a bug that silently broke drawing (and loading) no-fly zones on a flying site's page.
- Drawing a zone now expands the map to make it easier to place points accurately.
- No-fly zones now show who drew them and, once edited, who last edited them.
v1.5.1 30 Aug 2026
Fixed missing flying site photos
- Fixed a bug where imported flying sites never got their club logo - existing sites have been backfilled, and new imports will bring it across correctly.
v1.5.0 29 Aug 2026
Marketplace and Flying Site feeds
- New Marketplace: list a model for sale and other pilots can find it - anyone with it on their Wish List gets notified.
- Every flying site now has its own Site Feed for posts and photos from pilots there, separate from Incidents & Announcements - favourite a site to get notified about new posts.
v1.4.0 29 Aug 2026
Record what you sold a model for
- Marking a model as sold now lets you enter the sale price and date - shown on the model's page and in your Sold list.
v1.3.1 29 Aug 2026
Bigger widgets and a fullscreen button
- Every dashboard widget can now be resized up to 4 rows tall (was 2), and has a fullscreen button in its header for a full-viewport view.
- The Wind Map's map now grows to fill the extra space when the widget is made taller.
v1.3.0 29 Aug 2026
Live air traffic on the Wind Map
- The Wind Map widget can now show nearby live aircraft (via OpenSky Network's free ADS-B feed) - tap a plane marker for its callsign, altitude, speed and heading.
v1.2.0 29 Aug 2026
Wind gusts, sunrise/sunset, flyability, and a new Wind Map widget
- The Weather widget now shows wind gusts, today's sunrise/sunset, and a Good/Marginal/Poor flyability badge based on wind, gusts and rain chance.
- New Wind Map widget - see live wind direction and speed on a map for one of your flying sites, with an hourly trail showing how it's shifting.
v1.1.0 28 Aug 2026
Notification cleanup, cancelled-plan status, and a version number
- Delete a single notification, or clear them all at once.
- Your Plan page now shows when a cancelled subscription actually ends, instead of just looking active.
- Added this version number and release notes page.
v1.0.0 28 Aug 2026
RC Flyer Pro - Public Launch
- A full rebuild of RC Flyer as its own standalone app - no more third-party app builder underneath it.
- GPS Flight Replay: watch back a real flight track with playback speed control, camera modes, and adjustable altitude/units.
- A customisable Hangar dashboard, including multiple named dashboards to switch between.
- Maintenance, battery and component tracking for every model, plus a standalone Components overview.
- Flying Sites with live "Flying Now" presence and automatic check-ins.
- Social Wall, Following, a public Feature Requests board, and direct messaging between pilots.
- A Wish List for gear you're after, with one-click convert-to-owned once you buy it.
- One-click import of your models, flights, sites, maintenance history and photos from the old app - takes about a minute.
